Year 5 are taught by Mr Hussein and Miss Smith

Welcome to Class 5!

We are a class of 32 unique, kind pupils that love learning at Mosley!

Who helps us to learn?

Our teachers are Mr Hussein and Miss Smith. They love having fun with learning and always have lots of enthusiasm to help us to be our very best!
Mr Hussein's  favourite part of the school day is when he is teaching History and PE. He loves being able to take learning outside and make it fun and active. Mr Hussein is also the school football coach and runs the football teams!
Miss Smith is a very experienced teacher and  joined the Mosley team in the Spring term. Miss Smith loves teaching maths and has so many ideas how to make it fun!
Mrs McBride helps class 5 with their learning three mornings a week. She has known them for a number of years and is always excited to be with them. She is full of enthusiasm and optimism for the fantastic year ahead.

Information about our Class:

  • PE takes place on Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure children come to school wearing their kit on these days.
  • We strongly encourage children to read regularly at home. Reads can be recorded in the reading diary by children themselves, but this must be signed by an adult to confirm please. Your child can earn lots of reading badges for reading at home - and of course this will help them be a fabulous reader across the curriculum too!
  • 'At home' reads are counted up on a Friday.
  • Spellings are tested on Thursday. Once tested, new spellings are given out ready to be tested the following Thursday.
  • Homework has now moved to online, with Times Table Rockstars, Spellingshed and reading to be done throughout each week.
  • Times tables are tested every Thursday. We use 'Times Table Rock Stars' at home and at school to develop our speed with times and divide questions!
  • Please arrive at school between 8:40am and 8:50am. Collection time for upper Key Stage Two children is 3:30pm.

Our learning this term is:

Anglo Saxons

Easter with the Anglo Saxons — Butser Ancient Farm
