Message from Mr James Gardner, Chair of Governors
18th July 2022
I write to you, to take the opportunity to introduce myself as the elected chair of governors as from September 2022.
My name is Jim Gardner, and I am currently the Director of Safeguarding Standards and Culture (DSSC) at The JCB Academy, working in a Deputy Headship role. I have been in education all my life, and I am passionate about making a difference and changing lives. My values and ethos strongly align with the Mosley Academy and as a local professional, I take a great interest in the community's education, especially working with the John Taylor Multi Academy Trust (JTMAT).
I have formerly been a governor for a JTMAT primary school which has given me a great foundation and platform to fulfil the role as Chair of Governors.
I have always been driven to achieve a career in education with a background as a PE teacher, progressing through to pastoral work and senior leadership. So I hope this gives you great trust and confidence in myself and the governance team that every decision will always be made with the children at the forefront of the mind with a view to maximise opportunities and change lives.
As we approach the Summer break, I am excited and delighted to be on board, working with an already well established group of outstanding governors for Mosley Academy. Can I take this opportunity to say thank you to you as parents for all of your help and support for the school, a huge thank you to the teaching staff who work tirelessly to deliver excellent education day in and day out and of course the governors for all of their input throughout the year.
To the children and staff, have a wonderful Summer break and enjoy the celebrations for those moving on to pastures new. A gigantic good luck to the Year 6 cohort with their next level of education, take every opportunity you can!
Many thanks and I look forward to working with you all again this year.
Mr. Jim Gardner
Director of Safeguarding, Standards and Culture (DSSC)
