Year 1 are taught by Mr Mellor

Welcome to Year 1!

We are a class of 30 wonderful pupils. We are so excited to continue to develop as learners. Our favourite parts of the school day are learning something new, playing with our friends, challenging ourselves and creating and building! We love having a mixture of adult-led activities and enhanced provision to support our learning!

Who helps us to learn?

Mr Mellor is the Year 1 Class Teacher

My name is Mr Mellor and I’m the class teacher for our wonderful year ones. I have been teaching for 10 years and have taught across key stage one and key stage two. I love teaching key stage one because we can have lots of fun and really bring our learning to life! In year one particularly, our children grow up so much and become kind, hard-working members of our school community.

This is my first year at Mosley. I’m very lucky to have joined such a warm and caring school. I have lots of interests which I enjoy bringing into the classroom, such as music and sport. However, my favourite lessons to teach are DT, history and geography. I love to laugh and joke whilst helping children be the best they can be! I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together.

Mrs Insley is the Year 1 Teaching Assistant
This is our teaching assistant, Mrs Insley. She is very cheerful and loves helping us to be the best that we can be. Mrs Insley is very caring and always finds the time to talk to us. She has worked at Mosley for several years and has supported across lots of classes.

Information about our Class:

  • PE takes place on a Tuesday and Wednesday. Please ensure children come to school in their kit on these days and that any earrings have been taken out before arriving at school.
  • We change our reading books on Mondays. Please ensure children have their reading books and diaries in their book bags daily. Also, remember to record 'at home' reads in reading diaries so that we can continue to achieve our reading badges!

  • Please arrive at school between 8:40am and 8:50am. Collection time is 3:20pm in Key Stage One.

Please read our Curriculum Newsletter to see what we are learning this Term.
