Year 4 are taught by Mrs N.Baxter

We are a class of 31 pupils. We are a friendly class who are kind, smiley and hard-working. We are very inquisitive and ask lots of questions. We always work our hardest so that we can be the best that we can be. We have recently renovated our classroom and have enjoyed seeing the transformation. We love our new classroom and the calming, welcoming feel it has.
Who helps us to learn?
Mrs Baxter is our class teacher. She has moved into Year 4 after being in Year 1 for 4 years. Mrs Baxter loves teaching at Mosley and is really enjoying teaching Year 4 and can't wait to see what progress we can make this year. Mrs Baxter has had the privilege of teaching every year group in the primary age range throughout the 11 years she has been teaching. Her favourite subject to teach is Maths! She is the Eco-Squad lead and Science Subject Leader for our school. Mrs Baxter has two boys and loves everything to do with family life! She enjoys shopping and treating herself and her children. A motto that her Nan told her "Never Give Up on Your Dreams," is something she will be instilling in her class – everyone has the potential to do anything they like!
Mrs Kavanagh is our class teaching assistant. She spends her mornings supporting both the Year 3 and 4 children. She is a caring and friendly member of our class family and is always supporting our children academically and emotionally too. The children love having "Mrs Kav" helping them with their learning. Mrs Kavanagh loves anything pink and Hello Kitty. She has two wonderful daughters, who she loves spending time with.
Throughout the year, we will also have a JTMAT SCITT Student with us. Mr Binks will be learning and training alongside Mrs Baxter and will be increasing his teaching percentage throughout the year. He will be with us for Autumn and Summer. In Autumn, he will be in school on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. He has really enjoyed starting to get to know the children.
Information about our Class:
-
PE days are on a Tuesday and a Thursday. Please ensure earrings can be removed safely and longer hair is tied back. Please come to school in your smart PE kit on your PE day.
-
In Autumn 2, Year 4 will be having Forest School. This will take place on a Thursday afternoon. The children will need to make sure that they have clothing suitable for being outside, especially during the colder months. Below is a guide on the types of layers your child will need. Wellingtons should be in school, so the children can change into these ready for their Forest School session.
-
In Class 4, children are responsible for changing their reading books when they have completed them. Please ensure that children let an adult know when their book needs changing. We will be monitoring the amount of home reads each week. Please remember to record home reading in the reading diary so that your child can achieve their rainbow badges.
-
At home reads are counted on a Wednesday by Mrs Baxter or Mrs Kavanagh.
-
Spellings are handed out on a Friday. Please practise the spellings in the spelling homework book or on Spelling Shed. Bring your spelling book to school on a Friday so that the spelling test can be completed in it.
-
In Class 4, times tables tests are held on Fridays. Children can practise the tables set they are on in any way that helps them. All children have a TT Rock Stars log in and we encourage them to practise as much as possible. We aim for all children to achieve a rock status of ‘Breakthrough Artist’ on Times Table Rock Stars, as this means that they can answer multiplication questions in under 6 seconds. This is the requirement of the Statutory Multiplication Check, which the children will sit in June of the Summer Term.
-
Arrival time is between 8:40am and 8:50am. Collection time is: 3:25pm
-
We have our violin lessons on a Monday afternoon. The children will be bringing home their violins. Please bring your violin to school on Monday morning. It will come home that day to allow to practise throughout the week. Please look after it.
